Though the 4th Peace Garden Peace Festival has drawn to a close, a consistent impact of the event can still be felt. Participants deliver their congratulations for the success of the festival and express wish to further collaboration with China World Peace Foundation.
Maldivian Ambassador to China H.E. Mohamed Faisal, who has attended Peace Garden Peace Festival for three years consecutively, told reporter that no matter where we are from, what language we speak, what religion we believe, the grand meetings reminds us of the common objective we cherish——to live together in a peaceful and harmonious environment.
Qatari Ambassador to China H.E. Sultan Almansouri concluded his speech by thanking Mr. Li Ruohong and his giant organization China World Peace Foundation for the efforts that continued for decades in serving the noble cause of peace and promoting the South-South and South-North cooperation to improve global governance and resource allocation, support developing countries and vulnerable groups, facilitate homeland reconstruction in war-torn countries and defuses regional tensions. He said he is confident that this great organization and its activities such as this festival will remain strong arm for peace and development in Asia and the world at large.
As a worldwide acclaimed Chinese NGO, China World Peace Foundation has demonstrated the power of Chinese NGO on the world stage long time ago. In order to build a platform for the exchange between government and civil society, President Li Ruohong has, for several times, led delegations to attend various forums and activities organized by foreign governments and international organizations. His long-standing responsibility to the international community and youth and his incessant commitment to advance world peace has deeply moved a lot of people.
Former Under-Secretary-General of UN Sha Zukang said that history has repeatedly proved that peace is not fallen from the sky, that peace requires us to struggle, to fight, to maintain. And this requires the joint efforts of government, civil society and non-governmental organizations around the world. He is pleased to see that more and more NGOs are beginning to commit themselves to this historic undertaking. He said, for many years under Mr. Li Ruohong’s direction, China World Peace Foundation have been actively engaged in the promotion of peace. He, as a retiree from the diplomatic front after years’ devotion, would like to convey his deepest respect to Mr. Li and his foundation.
Dr. Hans d’Orville, former UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Strategic Planning, said the Peace Garden Peace Festival plays an inseparable role in contributing to the Belt and Road, and he is also looking forward to the 5th session of the festival.
Since its debut in 2014, Peace Garden Peace Festival, an annual event, has steadily grown into a most dominant gathering to celebrate the International Day of Peace with a distinctive Chinese voice. Every year, over 100 countries’ diplomatic envoys, heads of international organizations, government deputies, entrepreneurs, experts, scholars and youth participate in the event.
